There is a plumed hat in his right hand and a sword in his left. He is standing on a patterned carpet and there is a wooden pulpit behind. There are plants to either side. Tsesarevich Nicholas visited England in July 1893 to attend the wedding of his cousin the Duke of York, later King George V. During his visit Queen Victoria presented him with the Order of the Garter.
