It forms a pair with RCIN 2926890, a photograph of Tsesarevich Nicholas, both having been cut from an official engagement photograph. The couple married at the Winter Palace on the 26th of November 1894. The wedding took place just weeks after Nicholas II became Emperor following the early death of his father Alexander III.
