Carte-de-visite portrait of Princess Alix of Hesse, later Alexandra Feodorovna. She is standing looking slightly left with her left hand resting on the upright log behind her. She is wearing a lace dress and a pendant on a ribbon around her neck. Princess Alix of Hesse married Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia at the Winter Palace on the 26th of November 1894. Along with their children they were murdered by the Bolsheviks in 1918.
