Nicholas II and Grand Duke George Alexandrovich were the eldest surviving sons of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia. Nicholas II was Emperor of Russia from 1894 until his enforced abdication in 1917. Along with his family he was murdered by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Grand Duke George Alexandrovich died as a young man after a period of ill health.
