Photograph of the ruins brought from the Roman city of Leptis Magna in the Libyan desert to be reconstructed in the early 19th century at Virginia Water under the directorship of Wyatville. Corinthian columns support pedestals of stone together with half broken columns both standing and lying on the ground. An archway spanning a path stands in the background. On the right, a woman is seated under an umbrella as a man lies on the ground. On the left, another man standing on steps next to the columns faces the viewer. Trees envelop the ruins.
