Photograph of formations of soldiers, possibly the County Down Regiment of Foot, arranged into separate wings from the foreground to the background of the picture. The soldiers wear the uniform of undress with those on the front of the group kneeling with carbines and fixed bayonets and those in the centre standing, also holding carbines. Mounted officers are placed between the groups. Fields in the background.
