On the front corners of the building are domed roofs and at the front of the house, a ladder leans against the stone balustrade of the portico that covers the entrance. In the foreground is an area of open garden. Government House in what was formerly known as Rangoon, was designed by the architect Mr Hoyne-Fox in 1895 in the renaissance style.
