Description

Photograph of the Amphitheatre that served as an audience stand during the 1877 Delhi Durbar. Built on a white stone base, the stand features a tented roof decorated with trefoil designs and Romanesque banners. The spectators stand and sit behind an iron railing. In front of the stand are soldiers wearing pith helmets who face the viewer.
