Photograph of a full length, double portrait of Prince Alexander of Teck, later Alexander Cambridge, Earl of Athlone (1874-1957) and Princess Alice of Teck later Countess of Athlone (1883-1981) dressed for the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. Princess Alice is seated on the left, facing the camera front on. She wears a crown, multiple pearl necklaces, multiple family orders, a light colour, floor length gown, long gloves and an ermine cloak. Alexander Cambridge stands on the right, facing the camera. He wears the robes of the Order of the Bath. Photograph signed and dated by the sitters.
This photograph featured on the front cover of The Court Journal for 10 August 1911, where the photographer is credited as Rita Martin. -
