Photograph of boats in the Bay of Reval. There is a large ship with a small boat in the water below. In front of the boats there are two large clouds of smoke, the largest to the right of the photograph. In June 1908 King Edward VII and Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia met in the Bay of Reval, now Tallinn. As well as a family gathering the meeting served an important diplomatic purpose in the aftermath of the 1907 Anglo-Russian Entente, which settled colonial disputes and instigated the Triple Entente.
