Photograph of a dinner held on the Russian Imperial Yacht Standart in the Bay of Reval. The guests are seated at a long decorated table. Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia (1868-1918) and Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928) can be seen sitting to the right of the table. The room has wood panelling and chandeliers. In June 1908 King Edward VII and Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia met in the Bay of Reval, now Tallinn. As well as a family gathering the meeting served an important diplomatic purpose in the aftermath of the 1907 Anglo-Russian Entente, which settled colonial disputes and instigated the Triple Entente.
