Photograph of Alexandra Feodorovna, Empress of Russia (1872-1918) on the deck of a yacht in the Bay of Reval. She is wearing a long coat with a lace trim, a fur scarf and a hat. The naval officer opposite her is holding her hand. Naval officers and another lady stand on the deck around her. In June 1908 King Edward VII and Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia met in the Bay of Reval, now Tallinn. As well as a family gathering the meeting served an important diplomatic purpose in the aftermath of the 1907 Anglo-Russian Entente, which settled colonial disputes and instigated the Triple Entente.
