Photogravure of Cossack military personnel present at the coronation of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia. There are ten men arranged in a group with seven sitting in a row and three standing behind. They are all wearing military uniform and most are holding a sword. There is a small table covered with a velvet cloth in front of the group and painted scenery of a classical interior behind. The coronation of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia was held at the Kremlin on the 26 May 1896. The celebrations lasted for several weeks and were attended by representatives of Russian society as well as many foreign royals and dignitaries.
