Photogravure of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia (1868-1918) leading the procession following his coronation ceremony. He is wearing full coronation dress including a fur cloak and the Imperial Crown of Russia. An ornately decorated canopy is being held above him by uniformed soldiers. A small group of clergy and officials are walking in front of him and soldiers and spectators line the road to the right. The coronation of Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia was held at the Kremlin on the 26 May 1896. The celebrations lasted for several weeks and were attended by many foreign royals and dignitaries.
