Photograph of part of the beginning of a procession on Exhibition Road, South Kensington, with a military band on horseback with drums and musical instruments; soldiers line both sides of the road; various onlookers. Next to the 'Queen Anne' style building (no. 29, now the Jamaican High Commission, built in 1876) is a sign for the Royal School of Art Needlework (the building is no longer there). Beyond is an avenue of trees, which leads to Kensington Gardens. The view is taken from near the corner leading to Princes Gardens.
