Description

A hand-coloured photograph of Maharani Chinku Bai Raje Scindia of Gwalior, wearing a pink sari trimmed with gold and sitting on a terrace. Signed and dated, presumably by the sitter, at bottom right. Trimmed at the bottom.

Chinku Bai Raje married Maharaja Madho Rao Scindia of Gwalior c.1891. She became Regent of Gwalior on the death of her husband in 1925.
