Photograph of Miss Beatrice Carpenter, daughter of the Bishop of Ripon, seated, her feet crossed. She holds her necklace with both hands. William Boyd Carpenter was Bishop of Ripon from 1884 to 1911, having earlier been a Chaplain to Queen Victoria from 1879 to 1884 and a Canon of Windsor from 1882 to 1884. He and his wife had four sons and six daughters, one of whom was Beatrice.
