Carte-de-visite portrait of Victoria Brown, aged about two years old, the daughter of Archibald and Emma Brown. She is seated on a child-size settee, holding a doll, facing the camera but looking slightly to her left. There is another photograph on RCIN 2910077.
Victoria's father, Archibald Brown was a Highland servant and Page to Queen Victoria and later King Edward VII, from Crathie. Her mother Emma Johns was also in the Royal Household as one of Princess Louise's dressers; she came from Gilston, Wales. They lived at No 19 Victoria Street, as listed in the 1881 census report; then moved to 1 Cambridge Villas, New Road by 1891. In 1898 she married Arthur GG Cooper who was a decorater and was living in Thanet Villa in Windsor about 1901. By 1911 Victoria was a widow and living with her parents and her son Victor at 1 Cambridge Villas in Clewer, Windsor. -
