Her hair is waved and arranged in a chignon. She is wearing a white dress with a V neckline and pleating at the cuffs.
Helene was a daughter of Duke Georg August of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and his wife Grand Duchess Catherine Mikhailovna of Russia. In 1891 Helene became the second wife of Prince Albert of Saxe-Altenburg and stepmother to his two daughters, Olga and Marie. Her own marriage to Albert was childless.Provenance
