She is wearing a pale coloured dress with a full skirt and buttoned bodice, fastened by a brooch at the neck. She also wears drop earrings. She is seated on a gilded and upholstered chair and her feet rest on a cushion. Her arms are crossed and she looks directly at the camera. Her brother stands next to her on the right of the photograph. He is wearing a fez hat and a mid-coloured frock coat, fastened up the front with a row of buttons. He is shown from a frontal view and he holds his right arm across his stomach, his thumb hooked into the edge of his coat.
