Carte-de-visite depicting a family group portrait of Crown Prince Friedrich of Prussia (1831-88), Victoria, Crown Princess of Prussia (1840-1901) and their children. Prince Friedrich is sitting on a low wall and faces the viewer. Princess Charlotte (1860-1919) is also sitting on the wall, with her left leg crossed over her right, facing the viewer. Prince Henry (1862-1929) is sitting in front of the wall on the left of the photograph and faces the viewer. The Crown Princess is sitting in left side profile, wearing a dark coloured dress and headress. She is holding her daughter, Princess Viktoria (1866-1929), on her lap. Prince Wilhelm (1859-1941) is standing next to his mother on the right of the photograph, with his hands in his pockets. He is facing the viewer. Prince Friedrich and Prince Wilhelm are both wearing dark coloured armbands around their left arms. The photograph was taken in an outdoor location.
