Carte-de-visite depicting a full-length portrait of the Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, later Grand Duke Adolphus Frederick V. He is standing and faces three-quarters right. He is wearing an overcoat, bowler hat, bow tie and boots. His left hand is resting on a dog that sits on top of a plinth. In his right hand he is holding a large cane. There is a curtain hanging in the background on the left of the photograph. Adolphus Frederick was the son of Princess Augusta of Cambridge and a cousin of Queen Mary. He became Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz on 30th May 1904.
