Eleanor Lucy, Susan Evelyn and Victoria Alexandrina were the daughters of the Conservative Politician Michael Hicks-Beach, 1st Earl of St Aldwyn (1837-1916) and his wife Lady Lucy Catherine Fortescue. The representation of Britannia that appears on the 1902 florin designed by the British medallist George William de Saulles, was based on a study of Susan Hicks-Beach.Provenance
