Outside the carriage, within a park setting, stands Adolphus Friedrich (1848-1914) Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg Strelitz, on the far right. Elisabeth (1857-1933) the Hereditary Grand Duchess stands facing the viewer, with her right hand on her hip. In the carriage are seated their children: Adolphus (1882-1918) later Adolphus Friedrich VI of Mecklenburg; Augusta Charlotte (1880-1946) and Marie (1878-1948) later Princess Julius Ernst of Lippe. A groom stands at head of carriage.
