-
Photograph of the Princess of Wales, seated and facing three-quarters right with her feet on footstool and her hands on her lap. She wears a lace shawl over her dress and wears a hat. She is seated beside a small side table with drapery to the left. The photograph has been annotated and dated 1864 but in fact it was taken on Friday 8 July 1865, the day after her second son Prince George (1865-1936) was christened. According to the Prince of Wales's diary, now in the Royal Archives, the family were photographed in the morning by 'Mr Saunders, the Eton photographer, who took Alix and me & the children in the Conservatory'.
