Princess Louise of Wales was born on 20 February 1867, the third child and eldest daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales (later King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra). She married Alexander Duff, 6th Earl of Fife, on 27 July 1889. Two days later, he was created 1st Duke of Fife by Queen Victoria.
