On the 31 May 1906, Princess Victoria Eugénie married King Alfonso XIII in Madrid and became Queen Consort of Spain. After the announcement of the Second Spanish Republic, King Alfonso and his family went into exile on the 14th April 1931. The Queen spent part of her time in Italy and France whilst in exile and died on the 15th April 1969 in Lausanne.
On the 4th April 1887, Wilson created a partnership with his sons, John, Louis and Charles. Wilson stepped down as the principal photographer in 1888, allowing his sons to run the business which became a limited company in 1893, the year that Wilson died. -
