Claymore basket hilted broadsword. Scottish steel hilt, probably 1715-30, consisting of a conical pommel with pierced flutes on basket, pierced hearts and trefoils. Reptile skin handle, double fuller and ricasso. Blade (probably German, Solingen), of seventeenth-century type.
