Prince Charles began attending Gordonstoun School near Elgin, Morayshire (north-eastern Scotland) in April 1962. While there he took part in a number of school plays including Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in which he played the lead role in November 1965. HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh both attended this performance at Gordonstoun.Provenance
