A blue-and-white porcelain jardinière. Tub-shaped, with an indented band below the rounded rim; unglazed base. Painted round the sides is a river landscape with huts, a boat and rocks on the near shore, with pavilions and figures crossing a bridge, a boat on the water, and trees and mountains beyond, some of the trees in autumn foliage and the sun shown in red. Below the rim is a key-fret border.

Presented to King George V and Queen Mary for the Palace of Holyroodhouse by the architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson in 1917. Listed in the Holyroodhouse 1978 Inventory (no. 8, p. 3).
