A pair of rectangular giltwood side tables with an alabastro amatastini top with a moulded edge. Relief carved frame with strapwork and foliage, on tapering legs carved with acanthus; cross stretchers rising in scrolls at the centre culminating in a supporting vase at the hub.
Provenance
The tables were made by Whytock & Reid to take the alabastar tops which once belonged to Pope Pius VI. Presented to George V and Queen Mary by Sir R. Rowand Anderson for the Palace of Holyroodhouse in 1917.
