-
A carte-de-visite portrait, said to be of Lord Colin Campbell, brother of John Campbell, Duke of Argyll and brother-in-law to Princess Louise. It is a head and shoulders portrait, with longish hair. Vignette.
Lord Colin Campbell was a Scottish politician and married Gertrude Blood, a noted beauty in 1881; however their marriage soon failed due to alleged infidelities on both sides, which resulted in Gertrude failing to obtain a divorce. Colin died in Bombay of syphilis, aged 42. This photograph was probably taken at the time that Lord Colin was at Trinity College, Cambridge University. -
