Photograph of Countess Ida Louise Bennet Dalhousie. It is a full-length portrait, reclining on a sofa with many cushions, and surrounded by a Japanese-style fan to left, and a fern plant in a bulbous pot to right; a cloth is hung up below a mirror. Countess Ida was the wife of the 13th Earl of Dalhousie; in 1887 both died within hours of each other, Ida of peritionitis and the Earl of an apoplectic fit.
