-
Photograph of Lady Jeanie Naylor-Leyland. It is a three-quarters length portrait, sitting and facing the viewer, leaning on the table, in an evening or court dress with a beaded fringe collar and metal-embroidered skirt. She holds an ostrich feather fan. Signed by the sitter.
Jeanie was an American who married Sir Herbert Naylor-Leyland (1864-99) in 1889. Little is known about her, but there are at least five photographs of her in the collection, and it is said that she and her husband was one of King Edward VII's friends. -
