Includes portraits/cartes-de-visite of Prince Albert, Queen Victoria, Princess Beatrice, and other members of the royal family; Count Alexander Mensdorff-Pouilly; Lady Augusta Stanley; Dr Becker; Marie Henriette Queen of the Belgians; photographs of paintings; architectural views; group portrait of Albert Edward Prince of Wales during his visit to Canada & the US in 1860; portraits of 'General Tom Thumb', Charles Sherwood Stratton; unidentified actor playing 'Hamlet'; Abergeldie; Balmoral; Prince Louise of Hesse; Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie; Mr Meyer.
Some photographs are titled below in pencil with captions indicating a relationship between the writer and the sitters, e.g. 'Uncle Alfred' beneath a photograph of Prince Alfred Duke of Edinburgh. Some pages appear to have been cut out of the album prior to its first recorded appearance in the Royal Collection.Provenance
