Photograph showing a corner on an example of fine weaving from Ahmedabad in present-day Gujarat. The cloth has three outer borders, the first and third, almost identical, have floral decoration, the second has flowers and birds.
'Kincob' is the hybrid Anglo-Indian name given to this fabric, woven in silk and metal-wrapped thread.Provenance
Commissioned by Henry Cole. Later acquired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
