Description

Photograph of two terracotta friezes, shown one above the other. The friezes depict Nereids, Tritons, putti and sea monsters. Both panels have a female figure in the centre.

The friezes were created by Claude Michel, known as Clodion (1738-1814).

Provenance

Commissioned by Henry Cole. Later acquired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
