Photograph of Reverend Habb preaching to Malaysian people. The group are photographed outdoors and stand and sit facing the camera. Reverend Habb faces right and gestures with both hands. An attendant holds a parasol above the Reverend. A building with a thatched roof is located behind the congregation and a number of palm trees feature in the background. The photograph was taken in Penang (modern-day Malaysia).
This photograph was exhibited in the 1867 Paris Exhibition.Provenance
