Panoramic view of Kabul with two photographic prints joined together, taken from a high vantage point, Upper Bala Hissar, with a cityscape occupying most of the view, with snow covering some of the ground to left, near wells. Large hills in background. Photograph taken by the Bengal Sappers and Miners, an engineering arm of the Indian Army in c. 1879 during the course of the Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878-80).
