Photograph of the Lahore Gate to the ancient Bala Hissar fortress in Kabul, Afghanistan, with three groups of people sitting along the walls, including a group of children. A man stands next to the door. This was probably taken by the Bengal Sappers and Miners, an engineering arm of the Indian Army during the course of the Second Anglo-Afghan War (1878-80).
