Group photograph of fourteen people, with Sher Ali Khan (1825-79), Amir of Afghansitan seated in the centre, one of his sons Prince Abdullah Jan standing next to him, finely dressed. The Amir's generals (Sirdars) and two boys sits on the floor, on either side, while the rest stand behind. All but two were conical fur hats.
