Photograph of Garden Reach, the Poona home of Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon. The building is in the neo-Gothic style with a tower to the left. In front of the house there is a fountain with two stone lions on pedestals to the right. There is a smaller building to the far right and there are two children in the garden, one leaning against the fountain and the other standing on the grass to the right.
Sir Albert Abdullah David Sassoon was an Iraqi Jewish businessman and philanthropist. He continued the successful businesses established by his father David Sassoon. Several notable buildings in Poona, now known as Pune, were established by the Sassoon family including Sassoon Hospital and the Ohel David Synagogue.Provenance
