Photograph of an elevated view across Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) from the 'Serasker' tower [the Beyazit tower] taking in mosques, minarets and distant busy Golden Horn harbour. Outer bridge of harbour visible on left.
The bridge across to Pera is visible on the left, and nearby is the Egyptian (Spice) bazaar and the Yeni Cami (the New Mosque). This is the second section of a panoramic (but not precise) view from the top of the Seraskier tower.
The photograph is signed and captioned in the negative, 'F Bedford Constantinople'. See RCIN 2861688 for another print of this image.Provenance
