The Barada river gorge, Syria. After leaving Damascus, the royal party followed the course of the River Barada into the countryside. Here the Prince was able to indulge in hunting, something that he enjoyed whenever possible on this tour. The following day, they headed towards Baalbek, in Lebanon. The photograph is signed, captioned and dated in the negative, 'F Bedford Glen of Barada'. The number in the Day & Son series is 104.
