Photograph of the Alexander Garden and the Admiralty Building in St Petersburg. The photograph is taken from a high vantage point and shows a rectangular garden which is filled with trees. The Admiralty Building is to the left of the garden. It has a row of columns surrounding the tower and a tall narrow spire. There is a square with a tall monument at the end of the garden and the skyline of St Petersburg can be seen behind. The Alexander Garden runs parallel to the Neva River, alongside the south facade of the Admiralty Building. It is named in honour of Alexander II, Emperor of Russia who ordered 52 species of trees to be planted in the garden.
