Photograph of the Main Post Office in St Petersburg. The photograph shows a cobbled street with buildings to either side. An enclosed bridge across the street joins the buildings. A long ladder leans against a building to the left and there are two pigeons in the foreground. The Main Post Office was commissioned by Prince Alexander Bezborodko, head of the postal service, and built between 1782-89.
