Photograph of the Marble Palace in St Petersburg. The palace is in the neo-classical style and has three storeys and a central ornamental design. There is a large courtyard in the foreground. The Marble Palace was built during the reign of Catherine the Great and was designed to incorporate a wide range of different marbles. The palace was renovated in 1843 by Grand Duke Constantine Nikolayevich.
