Photograph of the entrance to the deerpark at Schloss Neustrelitz. There is a wrought iron gate with two statues of deers on pillars. There is a road in the foreground and bare trees to either side.
Schloss Neustrelitz was the principal palace of the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The palace was destroyed by fire in 1945 but the gardens survived. The Mecklenburg-Strelitz family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III. -
