There is a font in front of the altar and an ornate wooden pulpit to the right. The Church of St John, near to Schloss Mirow, is the burial place of many members of the Mecklenburg-Strelitz family. The family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III.
