Photograph of the private garden at Marienpalais. At the centre of the garden there is a fountain with a sculpture. It is surrounded by hedges and trees. Marienpalais was a residence of Dowager Grand Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The Mecklenburg-Strelitz family had close ties to the British Royal family dating from the marriage of Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to King George III.
